Street images characterize the perception of cities. Streets are often the symbolic representation of a city. What associations do we connect with roads? What images are created? Do the streets fulfill their promise in reality? How do we perceive streets (and cities) and what influences our perception? All these questions are the object of the picture series Boulevard. The series was carried out with a pinhole camera in analogue medium format. The special charm of the Lochkamerabilder reduces the human dominance – not least due to the long exposure times – so that the road image is in the foreground. The photographic work, photographed in 2016, includes 35 streets in 18 cities.
